  • Loosen the oil drain plug and remove completely for the oil to flow out.
  • Once the old oil has stopped dripping. Screw the drain plug back in securely.

  • Locate the oil filter (usually at the bottom side of the engine)

Step 4: Add new oil

  • Locate the oil filler cap (usually on top of the engine and marked with an oil can.

  • Use the Dip stick to ensure you have added the right amount of oil required. (Oil should be between maximum and minimum marks of the dipstick).
  • Ensure the oil filler cap is securely tightened

Step 5: Start the engine and check for leaks

  • Start the engine to run for a-few minutes.
  • Look for any leaks around the drain plug and filter (also underneath the car)
  • After the engine has been turned off and cooled for a-few minutes, check the oil level once more using the dipstick and add more if necessary.

Step 6: Dispose of the old oil properly

  • Pour the old oil into a can and carry it to an automotive store or recycling center for proper disposal.
